August 2016 – Four landscaping and design firms received $25,000 each to create a new vision for St. James Park. A jury of nonprofit, city and architecture leaders picked the firms from more than a dozen high-caliber designers competing for the opportunity to revision St. James Park. The firms are Wallace Roberts & Todd, Meyer & Silberberg, !melk-free and CMG Landscape Architecture. Using the city money, the firms will create new plans for the park by this fall. Community and design committee input will be part of their design process. The move is a major step in revitalizing the 6.8 acre park in the center of one of downtown’s most historic districts. The park design must include a water feature and Levitt Pavilion outdoor stage. Visit sanjoseca.gov/index.aspx?NID=5027 for more information.
