Ready for some head spinning excitement? The last weekend in April promises just that downtown.
That weekend brings a convergence of science, politics, science fiction and music to the neighborhood.
It all starts with Silicon Valley ComicCon Thursday, April 21 and running through Sunday. This year’s festivities include a festival along Market Street and in Plaza de Cesar Chavez, along with a who’s who of the ComicCon world.
Saturday is Earth Day. People around the country will march in support of science funding, evidence-based policy decisions and education. The Silicon Valley March for Science will start at 11 a.m. at City Hall run down Fourth Street and end at Plaza de Cesar Chavez, joining in on the ComicCon festivities.
And, if that wasn’t enough, the SoFA Street Fair on Sunday showcases the best of local music and SoFA District venues with more than 100 bands on 17 stages inside and outside.
We are going to offer two tips:
1) Park and Ride. Seriously. Take light rail. It will drop you off in the middle of everything.
2) If you must drive, consider parking in one of the city garages away from the center of everything and walking in. You can find some spaces here.
