The Fountain Alley Co-Design Workshop Wednesday night proved positive on a number of fronts:
1) San Jose State planning and design students taking theory gleaned from lecturers and texts and turning all they have learned into a real-life situation;
2) A large and diverse group of community members at-large working with the students toward outcomes that will improve the look and feel of the beleaguered downtown alley. No complaints about what the alley represents today, rather a look at the alley’s potential;
3) High-level city and county decision-makers joining in and staying to the end;
4) Together, more than 100 people gathering at Local Color – right across the street from the alley – and starting to flesh out a variety of colorful and whimsical ideas to bring new vibrancy and excitement to Fountain Alley.
