Join the Lupus Foundation of Northern California as we celebrate our 45th Anniversary and honor the people and groups that have shown outstanding commitment and contributions to the cause of lupus with the Purple Ribbon Award. The evening will also include dinner, dancing a live and silent auction! This evening funds the Lupus Foundation of Northern California’s support and education programs for lupus patients and their loved ones.
With a mission to improve lives impacted by lupus, the Lupus Foundation of Northern California offers programs designed to meet both social and educational needs of patients and their families in English and Spanish, both in-person and online. Focused on those living with lupus as well as on research and advocacy to find a cure, we are proud to be the voice of the Northern California lupus community of patients, families, friends and caregivers.
Lupus is an acute and chronic, inflammatory disease that, for unknown response, causes the immune system to become hyperactive and attack the body’s own healthy tissues and organs. Lupus can be devastating to the individuals affected by the disease, as well as their family members, not only because of the difficulty of diagnosis, but also because of the enormous number of symptoms associated with it. Lupus patients not only experience the challenge of navigating the treatment maze, but also the emotional impact of the disease on themselves and their loved ones.
