Abolitionist’s Tea Party: Plant alchemy as community practice

November 10 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

The Abolitionist’s Tea Party asks, “How does the natural world endorse abolition as a strategy for liberation?”

Join artists and community organizers tam welch and Kellee Matsushita-Tseng for a conversation and art-marking practice exploring how our experiences and relationships with plants can offer guidance for abolition-building. Attendees will walk through how our sense of smell can act as a tool in bringing visions of liberation to life. Through this artist-led workshop, participants will also create incense cones, or plant-offerings, to bring home as a reminder of how abolition can become a daily practice.

This workshop is open to all. Please note that this event is not recommended for those with scent sensitivities. Seating is limited; registering in advance is recommended. Advance registration includes admission to the Museum.
