San José’s own Ben Henderson, a renowned graphic artist and singer-songwriter, will perform for the SJZ New Works Fest at the SJZ Break Room on Friday, March 14, 2025. With over 25 years of captivating performances, Ben has become a cherished figure in the local art and music scene, known for his soulful voice, dynamic stage presence, and emotionally rich songwriting.
Henderson’s music combines raw emotion with thoughtful lyrics, creating an intimate connection with his audience. His songs resonate through heartfelt storytelling, making each performance a memorable and personal experience for listeners. Ben’s work continues to inspire both longtime fans and emerging artists in San José and beyond.
For the New Works Fest, Henderson, a 2025 Jazz Aid Fund honoree, will present a special performance with a full band to debut new material and revisit highlights from his 25-year career. Joining him on stage will be Wax Moon (Paul Kimball & John Blatchford), Tim Christol, and poetry from Mighty Mike McGee. Visual art by Francisco Ramirez will enhance the evening, blending music, spoken word, and live art for a unique, multidisciplinary experience.
