Community Day: Lunar New Year

Join SJMA and welcome the year of the Rabbit, or in Vietnam, the year of the Cat, with artmaking activities, cultural demonstrations, and live performances. This contemporary celebration honors Lunar New Year traditions commemorated around the globe and here in San José. Explore and create with family and friends in this multigenerational event.
ONSITE PROGRAM
1pm: Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra, a cultural heritage group providing traditional instrumental music performances mainly in the Bay Area.
2pm: Urisawe, from Fan Dance to Samgomu, Urisawe is dedicated to offering the best performances and classes when it comes to Korean Dance.
3pm: Rising Phoenix, a dynamic team that practice the art of modern Lion Dancing in San José, CA, for over a decade. Consisting of high school students and young professionals, Rising Phoenix strives to keep the traditional art of lion dance alive.
HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES
