Fresh off their sold-out New Years performance in LA, this fine crew of Vietnamese stand-up comedians is proudly coming to the Tabard Theatre in Downtown San Jose for an evening of laughter and cultural celebration. Paying homage to the ubiquitous and beloved home entertainment juggernaut, EMBARRASSED BY NIGHT is a comedy showcase featuring an eclectic group of Vietnamese stand-up comics who have been featured on international television, streaming services, and prominent comedy festivals around the country. Whether or not you grew up with a Paris by Night tape consistently in your family’s VCR, this is a can’t-miss hilarious evening of English-language comedy starring some of the finest Vietnamese comics in the nation.

Fred Le is an LA-based comic who’s been invited to perform at prestigious festivals including SF Sketchfest and Boom Chicago Comedy Fest in Amsterdam. While living abroad in the country his parents had fled decades ago, he served as host of the VTV International television show Vietnam A to Z. His family is simultaneously proud and disappointed by this.

Andy Van is a standup comedian from the Bay Area and based in LA. He has performed in various capacities, ranging from wedding MC to spoken word artist. An avid humorist, he continues to tour throughout California and the west coast.

Rosie Tran has a half-hour special premiering on Peacock this year. She’s competed on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and recently performed at the Netflix is a Joke comedy festival.

Alex Duong is an LA-based comedian/writer/actor. He’s written for Historical Roasts on Netflix and guest-starred on Blue Bloods on CBS. Duong performs weekly at The World Famous Comedy Store.

Nicole Tran is a regular guest on the Kill Tony Podcast. She is a Bay Area comedy staple who has performed all over the US.

Viet Nguyen was born in Vietnam and raised in California. He has appeared at the LA Improv, Comedy Store, and Ice House Pasadena.

Also featuring comedian David Nguyen and a special musical performance by San Jose’s own Velmalicious!

The performance is approximately 2 hours, including one intermission.

Doors open at 7pm.
