Fresh off the success of the Oscar®-winning Top Gun: Maverick, visionary filmmaker Joseph Kosinski returns with another Filmed For IMAX® adrenaline rush. F1 was crafted to fully immerse audiences into the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing. Audiences will feel the visceral energy and heart-pounding speed of the sport, like only IMAX can deliver.
In the 1990s, Sonny Hayes was Formula 1’s most promising driver until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team convinces Sonny to return to racing and become the best in the world. Driving alongside the team’s hotshot rookie, Sonny soon learns that the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.

When you see a movie at The Tech, you’re doing more than watching an epic on the largest dome screen in the West—you’re supporting a non-profit that inspires the next generation of innovators. Proceeds from our IMAX theater support hands-on STEAM education, equity-focused programming, and low-cost field trips for local schools.
Seating is not assigned in the IMAX Dome Theater. Please arrive early to pick your preferred seats.
Parking is Easy!
All F1 The Movie ticket purchasers who park at the Convention Center Garage and or 2nd and San Carlos Parking Garage will receive $5 parking validation! Just present your parking ticket at Visitor Services for validation. Note: Not valid if City has imposed a Special Event fee. Same Day ticket purchase only.
