SJSU Chorus and Orchestra presents Fred Cohen’s Nizkor and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy
Experience the profound and transformative of Fred Cohen’s Nizkor: A Journey of Remembrance, a choral and orchestral work that honors Jewish mourning traditions through music inspired by psalms, prayers, and rituals of remembrance. Blending 21st-century harmonies with Klezmer influences, this moving musical offering invites audiences to reflect on loss, healing, and closure in a performance debuting May 10, 2025 at the California Theater. The program also features Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and a tribute to Professor Emeritus Charlene Archibeque. {Supported in part by the College of Humanities & the Arts’ Artistic Excellence Programming Grant}.
