As their name suggests, Grace and The Grit bring together a powerful mix of soulful, graceful melodies, and old school grittiness, creating exciting modern music with a sense of relevant timelessness.
They have performed at the Fountain Blues and Brews Festival and multiple times in the Saratoga Mountain Winery Garden before Diana Ross’s Music Legacy Tour this June and the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight’s tour in August.
Grace and The Grit came to be when vocalist and songwriter Nehal Abuelata, well known for her exceptionally soulful and powerful vocals, began to collaborate with longtime blues guitarist Austin Geiger. After many years of writing together, the duo decided to form a new band and pursue their passion for creating original blues and soul music. They were soon joined by local harmonica heavyweight Ryan Walker, who added his variety of harmonica tastes to the mix, further developing the group’s unique sound. Next came drummer Matt Condino who—with a lot of flair and a large array of drumming styles in his pocket—was able to bring the music to life.Â
After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Grace and The Grit was finally rounded out with the addition of Adam Martinez, whose incredibly soulful bass style perfectly completed their Progressive-Soul sound.Â
