Singer-songwriter Laura Nelson invites you to share the songs dearest to her soul —the country-blues singer/songwriter tradition of a whiskey-sippin’ voice and the caresses of a guitar, mystic folk sensations, dark pop ballads sung with the piano, and solo piano. This delicious evening of musical duets will progress with an eclectic array of pairings to tingle your ears. Although music is often lived in solitude, sharing it with others is being truly alive. Laura and guests will be playing a mix of tasty covers of classic ‘60s and 70s folk and rock tunes, plus some originals.
Singer/Songwriter Laura Nelson believes that music isn’t simply something one does, it is something one lives. Laura decided to start living music in 2011 after a study abroad in Spain, getting her first official band gig the evening she landed back in San Francisco. Since then, it’s been a non-stop, work-hard, play-hard adventure in a variety of musical styles and instruments, including playing keyboards in notable metal band In Virtue, playing drums in former Oakland-based doom metal band Dwell, touring the U.S. as a punk rock bass player, playing piano in a musical theatre orchestra for the Bay Area Educational Theater Company, serving as music director and pianist for a church, composing soundtracks for local modern dance companies, and singing and leading 70s-style rock band Ronin in a movie soundtrack commission.
All ages. We are restricting in-person ticket sales to vaccinated patrons only. The state cards will be checked at the door. Face masks are optional.
