Nineteen: The music of Oliver Nelson

October 1 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Nineteen, San Jose’s professional big band, as they treat you to the music of Oliver Nelson, American jazz-saxophonist, clarinetist, arranger, composer, and bandleader. Popular in the ’60s and ’70s, Nelson was one of the first African-American modern composers to write for film and television.

Led by San Jose native Gus Kambeitz, Nineteen has been performing in the South Bay for more than 20 years, and has hosted many of the world’s greatest jazz artists in feature concerts. The band has also created two original musical theater collaborations with local theaters highlighting historical jazz greats.

Band members: Kevin Kono, Ricky Martinez, Craig Diserens, Dave Rodrigues, Antony Pickard, Diana Tucker, Eric Raeburn, James Pasqual, Nancy Moser, CJ Posner, Rick South, Paul Bautista, Ken Feliciano, Gua Kambeitz, Bruce Campbell, and Tim Roberts.
