City Lights Theater hosts a fundraising cabaret for B.A.D. Musical Theatre, showcasing a live band and local actors belting out songs from rock musicals including Green Day’s “American Idiot,” “Rent” and “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show.” The B.A.D. stands for Bay Area Diversity, and this company is devoted to showing audiences that colors, sizes, genders, beliefs and abilities should never stand in the way of artists’ desires to tell a story and make an impact.
Performers include City Lights favorites Naomi Evans (“Kinky Boots,” “Miss You Like Hell”) and Vivienne Truong (“Vietgone”), and the event is produced by Chloë Angst. Other performers: Vivienne Castillo, David Sandhu, Sage Alberto, Emery Bacon, Brooklyn Page Torres, Deborah Feisa and Cordelia Larsen. Band: Christopher Hewitt (keyboard), Thinh Nguyen (guitar), Tommy Calamia (bass) and Mike Fullerton (drums).
