Spirits of Mexico: A Día de los Muertos Winemaker Dinner

October 23 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$195

Meet renowned winemaker Daniel Lonnberg at a five-course Mexican feast benefiting local artists in honor of Día de los Muertos.

Embark on a remarkable taste journey through Mexico at this five-course feast created by the renowned Signia San Jose culinary team, and raise a glass with Daniel Lonnberg, considered one of the best winemakers in Mexico. He’s currently making wine for some of the country’s top brands including Adobe Guadalupe, Hilo Negro, Norte 32 and Emeve, as well as his own boutique project, Vinsur.

A cocktail reception featuring Dobel Tequila and 400 Conejos Mezcal tastings and cocktails kicks off the evening with live music and optional face painting stations.

A portion of the proceeds from the dinner benefits Local Color, a San Jose-based, women-powered artists’ organization that builds equitable pathways for creatives to thrive.

Guests are encouraged to dress in festive attire, and enter to win hand-painted wine and spirit bottles by Local Color’s founder and executive director, artist Erin Salazar.

Guests will also meet expert Mexican wine communicator and sommelier Vionda, author and illustrator of “Wines and Wineries of Baja California,” who will be selling and signing copies of this essential guide to the most famous wine region in Mexico. This bilingual 4th edition (English & Spanish) presents info on more than 80 wineries in Baja California, featuring their signature red, white, rosé & sparkling wines.
