The Kaye Bohler Show

September 17, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$25 – $35

Tabard Theatre announces dynamic soul and blues original recording artist Kaye Bohler returning to Tabard Theatre with her nine-piece band featuring the “Mighty Bones” horn section.  The Kaye Bohler Show will perform Saturday, September 17 at 8pm. This energy-packed night revisits the musical explosion of soul from the1960s, with a little Rat Pack campy humor thrown in.

The show will be available both to attend in-person and to watch from home. The high-quality multi-camera recording will be available On-Demand for 30 days following the show. Single tickets are $25 for General Admission and $35 for reserved Cabaret seating. Proof of vaccination is required for in-person patrons. Vaccine cards will be checked at the door. Masking is encouraged but not required. Dancing is also encouraged, but not required.

Kaye’s voice is quoted as “flowing with whiskey and honey” but it is her true power, range and nuance, combined with 40 years of humbled study of America’s deepest musical roots, plus 40 years of non-stop performing that have merged to create this one-of-a-kind performer.

Kaye has been a favorite with Tabard audiences, with shows such as her sold-out Tribute to Etta James, several packed Christmas shows and two original big band shows prior to the pandemic.

The Kaye Bohler Show’s big band sound features Scott Jensen on harmonica, Gary Dean Smith on Guitar, Victor Revere on bass, Kevin Coggins on drums, Pam Arthur on keyboard and Ric Feliciano leading the Mighty Bone horn section.

Kaye Bohler is an accomplished and prolific songwriter with five albums to her credit.  She released “Like a Flower” with a power-house of East Bay musicians including GRAMMY-nominated guitarist Robben Ford.  Kaye returned to Los Angeles to record her original album “Handle the Curves” with multi-GRAMMY winning producer and guitarist Pete Anderson.  Kaye recently released a couple of singles, one produced with the great Larry Batiste entitled “Woman in the Whitehouse.” Then her patriotic single “The Country I Love” with GRAMMY-nominated recording artist Robert Berry at Soundtek Studios, where Kaye is currently recording another full-length original album entitled, “Better.”

Tabard Theatre (formerly Theatre on San Pedro Square) — San Jose’s “Hidden Gem” venue for the performing arts—  is located in the heart of historic San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose amid a bustling restaurant district.  This intimate and unique venue brings a touch of Manhattan to the South Bay with its rustic yet edgy feel. Old brick walls, plush leather seats, antique wood plank floors, sweeping red velvet drapes and a 35-foot mahogany bar create a casual cabaret atmosphere. The three-quarter round cabaret stage— described by artists as “a room that feels big and small at the same time” — is the perfect setting for live music and theatre.
