Viva Calle San Jose
June 12, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Viva CalleSJ is an “open streets” event, based on the global “Ciclovia” concept where for
one day the roads are opened to people and closed to cars. People traffic on bikes,
skateboards, rollerblades, or walking replaces car traffic and the streets become “paved
parks” where people of all ages and abilities – as well as social, economic, and ethnic
backgrounds – can come out and participate in recreational activities, social services,
cultural events and food in a safe environment! Providing our residents with an
opportunity exercise and improve their health, as well as see what the communities of
our city have to offer from a new perspective, enjoying the streets, neighborhoods and
parks in San José.
Led by the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services (PRNS), Viva
CalleSJ is a collaborative effort between multiple departments from the City of San José,
Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, Santa Clara County Public Health, VTA, AARP, the
