PBID Board of Directors Call for Interest

September 2016 – The Downtown San Jose Property-Based Improvement District (PBID) is an assessment district formed by property owners to provide enhanced services to the district. The PBID is best known for its daily services provided by Groundwerx.
The PBID is seeking three (3) board members representing the following categories:
• One (1) resident representative
• One (1) commercial property owner representative
• One (1) hotel owner representative
Candidates should have knowledge or interest in downtown PBID issues such as:
• Cleaning, maintenance and security
• Beautification and street life activation efforts
• Business recruitment and retention
• Development
Property owners elect board members annually to the Property Owners’ Association that oversees the PBID. The board is comprised of 11 members: seven commercial owners, one residence owner and one business owner elected by vote of property owners; and two seats for public property owners paying assessments in the district appointed by the San Jose City Manager.
Directors are eligible to be elected at the Annual Meeting on October 14 for a three- year term beginning January 1, 2017. A nominating committee of current PBID board members will review candidates and recommend a slate to the members for election.
