Local cannabis dispensary expands their business to West Santa Clara
Purple Lotus, the only family-owned and operated cannabis dispensary in San Jose officially opened their first downtown location at 66 West Santa Clara Street.
Purple Lotus is committed to maintaining their identity as a family-owned business, and provides a welcoming atmosphere with top quality products. The cannabis dispensary is now located in the midst of downtown San Jose, just one block away from San Pedro Square.
Matt Krishnamachari and his wife Vanessa established Purple Lotus in 2010, in an office next to Regional Medical Center. Since then, the company has expanded to two dispensary locations, boasting the purple colored signage residents of the San Jose community know and love.
As downtown San Jose continues to emerge as an entertainment hub, Krishnamachari voiced his enthusiasm about joining this community. “We see the exciting things going on downtown and want to be part of the renaissance,” he said. “Our store is located close to San Pedro Square, the San Jose Improv, SAP Center, The McEnery Convention Center and right on the Light Rail.,” he said. “Since our soft opening last month, many customers have told us how wonderful it is to have a cannabis dispensary located in a normal commercial location instead of on the outside of town in an industrial area.”
Purple Lotus celebrated their grand opening on May 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Matt Mahan, District 3 Council representative Omar Torres, and Chief San Jose Downtown Association CEO Alex Stettinski. Many members of the downtown community were present to showcase their support and excitement as well.
“We’ve had an outpouring of support and welcoming from our business neighbors, many of whom have brought gifts of food, cards and other well wishes,” Krishnamachari continued. “The Downtown Association has helped us greatly in providing support as we navigated our move into downtown.”
