Exciting news for Downtown San Jose—there’s a stunning new mural that’s adding vibrant energy and life to the neighborhood! In partnership with the San Jose Downtown Association, this mural beautifully celebrates the women, culture, and spirit of both San Jose and California, making a bold statement in the heart of the city.

Artist @matleyhurd took a creative leap with this piece, stepping outside of their usual style to craft something both challenging and deeply meaningful. The final result is a reflection of not only the artist’s vision but also the power of community. The support from locals and neighbors throughout the entire process made this mural even more special.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Lou Jimenez, the SJDA Street Life Manager, for making this project a reality, and to @iromo_ for capturing the beauty of the mural in its full glory. The contributions from the community—particularly businesses like Guildhouse and San Jose Stage—were invaluable in bringing this project to life.
