Traffic Alerts & Street Closures

August 19 – August 21
Sunday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

  • One northbound lane of 1st St between Reed St and Highway 280, and the eastbound Reed St between 1st St and 2nd St, will be closed. Traffic will be guided by cones, signs, and flashing arrows. Access will be maintained.

August 19 – August 23
Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM

  • One westbound lane of San Carlos St will be closed between S 4th St and S 2nd St.
  • One northbound lane of S 3rd St will be closed between E Santa Clara St and San Carlos St.
  • Traffic will be directed with signs, flashing arrows, and cones.

August 19 – August 26
September 3 – September 11
Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Crews will make multiple partial single lane closures on northbound Coleman Ave. Traffic will be directed by cones, flashing arrows, and signs.

August 19 – September 8
Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM

  • The north sidewalk on San Fernando St between 2nd St and 3rd St will be closed. Pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk.

August 22
Thursday, 9 AM – 3 PM

  • Crews will close 1st St between San Carlos St and E San Salvador St. Barricades, flaggers, and signs will direct traffic.

August 23
Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM

  • Crews will close the westbound lane of E St James St. Flaggers, cones, and signs will direct traffic into the open lane.

August 23 – September 20
Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Crews will work on the bike lane and in the intersection shoulder at Delmas Ave between Auzerais Ave and Lake House Ave. No lanes will close, but the sidewalk will close. Pedestrians will detour to the other side of the road. Barricades, signs, and flashing arrows will direct traffic.

August 24
Sunday, 12:01 PM – 11:59 PM

  • Southbound Market St will be closed in both directions between San Fernando St and San Carlos St.
  • Park Ave will be closed between Almaden Blvd and Market St.
  • One northbound lane on Market St will remain open from San Fernando St to San Carlos St.

August 25
Sunday, 3 AM – 6 PM

  • Crews will close multiple streets for the San Jose King of the Streets 2024 event in front of SAP Center along W. Santa Clara St and Barack Obama Blvd.
    • Santa Clara St: Closed between Delmas Ave and Stockton Ave.
    • Barack Obama Blvd: Closed between St. John St and San Fernando St.
    • Montgomery St: Closed between Santa Clara St and Crandall St.

August 25
Sunday

  • Market St will be closed from Julian St to San Fernando St for the Pride Parade.
  • The parade will start at the bottom of the Coleman St overpass, with floats debarking on San Fernando St between Market St and Almaden Blvd.
    • Garage Closures: Market St will impact cars entering and exiting San Pedro Square Market Garage between 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. SJPD will manage access during this time, allowing entry and exit until the parade begins and reopening once it passes.

Additional Access and Detour Information:

  • Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph: Parishioners should travel to 1st St, then turn left onto San Fernando St for drop-off at San Fernando and Market St.
  • Signia by Hilton: One lane will remain open on northbound Market St from San Fernando to San Carlos for hotel access.

August 26 – September 20
Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Crews will work on the bike lane on Almaden Ave between Carlysle St and Post St. No lanes will close, but the sidewalk will close. Pedestrians will detour to the other side of the road. Barricades, signs, and flashing arrows will direct traffic.
