YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. As one of the first multi-service agencies in the Bay Area, YWCA offers direct services to meet immediate needs, issue education to change hearts and minds in our communities, and legislate advocacy to change systems that achieve greater equity and justice for all.
How to Volunteer
Join YWCA’s mission to empower all survivors and sign up for its 75-Hour Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Counselor Certification Training. The course is state-certified and includes added components covering human trafficking and race equity.
The Salvation Army operates a Food Pantry that focuses on food delivery, distribution, and service.
How to Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to assist in the Food Pantry drive-thru, bilingual services, family services, food and meal preparation, arts and activity instruction, and shelter services. Click on the link below to browse opportunities.
Volunteering with Guadalupe River Park Conservancy can bring you many benefits – from learning successful gardening techniques, to having the satisfaction of doing something good for the environment. Plus, students can earn community service credits by spending some time working with us! Come meet new friends, build community, and help us maintain the park and Gardens at the same time!
How to Volunteer
There are three ways to volunteer with GRPC. This includes workdays at the rose garden, heritage orchard, or trail cleanups. All of the community workday offerings found on the link below require volunteers to register prior.
Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s mission is to build healthier and more just communities by making bicycling safe and accessible for everyone.
How to Volunteer
Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in trail cleanups, advocacy, bicycle parking, social rides, photography, graphic design, event planning and data entry. Veggielution connects people from diverse backgrounds through food and farming to build community in East San Jose. Veggielution also operates a demonstration garden at the SoFA Pocket Park.
How to Volunteer
Volunteer opportunities at the SoFA Pocket Park are available to help maintain Veggielution’s demonstration garden and help out with events. The demonstration garden opens every First Friday from 4-7pm. Sign up below under the “Where can I sign-up” section by clicking the “Volunteer Registration” button.
