What better way to transition from Black History Month to Women’s History Month than spotlighting DTSJ’s iconic women- and Black-owned business, @nirvanasoulcoffee? ✨☕️ Nirvana Soul made history as the first Black-owned coffee shop in #DTSJ when opening their first location in the SoFA District amid the pandemic, and they didn’t stop there.
Founders and sisters, Be’Anka Ashaolu and Jeronica Macey, knew it was a risk opening a new business during the pandemic, but they carried their vision forward with resolve to provide the community a space built on joy, culture, comfort and connection.
Their journey has been nothing short of inspiring as they’ve since expanded a location in Cupertino and are set to open another at the @sjsulibrary this spring! We celebrate the remarkable footprint that Ashaolu, Macey and Nirvana Soul have made downtown and beyond to open doors not just for the community, but for future entrepreneurs and business owners alike.
